Buddha, Fried Tofu, & A Baby

Sometimes you are taught the same lesson over and over again until you…blog about it.

The lesson I’m referring to in particular is from the awesome Buddha.

Last night, I had the hardest time coming up with a quote that I really wanted to share with you for #WednesdayWisdom on Facebook & Instagram.  I knew I had a couple that I ran across this week that struck me.

But my ultra-OCD-ness wasn’t OCD enough.  I forgot where I put them.

And then on top of that, I knew it was time for me to write to you again on my blog.  Major brain fart.  Where did all my ideas gooooooooooo?

I was stuck.  #firstworldproblems

And that was just the beginning of my day.

Later on, I knew it was only going to get more difficult.  See, I’ve been intentionally writing new songs for the past few weeks and every day has been a challenge.  (I've been wishing for a fairy godmother.)

Let me tell you now if no one has ever told you.  Writing a song is not easy, folks.

So in all honesty, for the past few weeks, I’ve been feeling like a major failure.

Back to finding that quote…I was frustrated. (I know it’s just a quote, but I love quotes.)  30 minutes had passed and I should have already started designing the picture quote.  Actually, it should have already been POSTED.

On top of that, I was hungry and had no idea how to make the fried tofu that I wanted for dinner last night.  I quickly found a recipe and the first step was to take out my tofu and set it between two plates in order to squeeze the liquid out of the tofu.

My small plates are on the top shelf.  You know where I’m going with this, don’t you…

So, this very unhappy camper went to reach for a small plate on her tiptoes and (smh) her fingers became butter.

The plate came tumbling down and crashed.

And THAT was the moment I found the quote I needed to share for #WednesdayWisdom and the topic I had to write about today.

With the few rough weeks of writing new songs, I had already been in a negative state of mind.  With additional tasks such as finding a quote I couldn’t find and writing a blog where I didn’t know what to write about, I basically was digging myself a deeper hole into negativity.  Which ultimately lead to a one-plate-less Pagnia.

I was becoming what I was thinking.
I was attracting what I was feeling.
And I was creating what I was imagining.

Ahhhh.  You are so wise, Buddha.

Thank goodness there is a happy ending to this story.

I ate dinner.  The tofu was good.  I’d change the sauce next time though.

Then I intentionally left my workspace.  Watched mountain lions in the wild (I’m all about Animal Planet.).  Hopped on Facebook to see my adorable one-week old baby niece, Scarlett.  And enjoyed Nancy's phone call on how cute and caring my mom is now that she’s a grandma.

When I changed what I was thinking about, I started to attract positive energy, and ultimately created something positive from it -- a new quote and a new blog for you.

Thank you for the quote and the lesson, Buddha. Now may I not have to learn this lesson again.

Ever had one of these days?  Are you learning this same lesson over and over again too?  How did you overcome it?  Leave me a comment below!  (I do read ‘em!)

Until next time...

Dream BIG,
Pagnia
